Great place to see the outdoors and enjoy the beauty of the lake. They have a nice boat ramp and plenty of dock space for your boat. The cabin we have is spacious and can comfortably sleep more than the six people we have. Nice place. I would come again. Update. Melody has new owners. It seems like they are working to make significant improvements and genuinely care about making your experience a pleasant one when visiting the lodge.
We lived in maple cottage for a week during the first week of August. It is such a wonderful place for family. If you are looking for a peaceful living and nice landscape view and enjoy the water, this is the place for you. We had lots of fun to fishing, kayaking, swimming etc.. One of the favourite thing for Kids is jumping into the water from the deck. Rooms are clean and have great setup. Owner is very nice and helpful on anything you ask. It is great place to enjoy family time. We will come back for sure.
Went up for July 1st weekend with 2 other couples. We all fit beautifully in our 3 bedroom apartment. Richard, Sean and Mr.H were were very hospitable, friendly and helpful. The scenery was breathtaking. Grounds were well kept. Accommodation were clean and comfortable.. plenty of hot water. BBQ was brand new. Definitely will be back. Thank you for the wonderful weekend.
Just wanted to thank the host James for the happy time we had at his lodge. I love fishing and the lake location was ideal for us. The weather was fantastic during the 6 days we spent there and the nature surroundings gave us real sense of escape from our city life. Initially we read some reviews about the place, not all of them perfect, but in the end we found everything just the way we liked. Rustic cabin surrounded by trees and green everywhere with fresh air and quiet really let us relax completely. And all at a very reasonable cost. We have already recommended the place to our friends.
We stayed at the Birch cottage 2 nights & loved the setting so much that we stayed an extra night at Acorn. The area surrounding the cottages is absolutely stunning & peaceful. Although the cottages were fully booked, we never felt that it was over crowded. The lake is warm and swimmable & there are different boats you can rent. We tried a canoe & paddle boat. James and his wife are lovely people & make this setting ideal. You can tell they take great pride in making everyone's stays enjoyable. They even gave us a small parting gift. We would go back here again & recommend it to others. The cottages are rustic & not luxury but that's the whole point of going out here. Even with no AC, we found the weather was cool since we were next to the lake. We brought a portable fan with us for the nights which helped. If you want to feel like you're in your house in cottage country, don't go here. But if you want to really experience the wilderness & find some peace from your busy, bustling life...I highly recommend trying this out. Thank you for a wonderful weekend James & family.
We have been coming to Melody Lodge every year for many years, and have always had good times there. James was very kind, helpful and accommodating, and it seems new owners and staff have inherited that. New upgrades inside cabins and some changes outside made our stay more enjoyable, and the newly added water trampoline also made our kids (actually young adults) enjoy the water more. The lake side surroundings and views are great, and the atmosphere is relaxing. Fishing is excellent and I broke my personal weight records for both bass and pike this time! Looking forward to our next vacation there during the Civic long weekend.
This was our first time at Melody Lodge and we will be coming back! Richard, Shaun and Mr.H were all great gentlemen. My nieces have never been to a cottage before and they loved it. We met some great people and they were first timers too and they loved it too. The loons on the lake and the water snakes the stars at night that go on forever. We took out boats on 2 days and my 10 yr niece caught her first bass!( we let it go) the fishing was good and the lakes were beautiful. They loved the giant floating trampoline and water mat. The rental for the boats were affordable. They even lent us a marine map! I would definitely recommend this as a great place to stay. I only wish we could have stayed longer.
